Fall Wedding Timeline
Summer is here and fall is right around the corner! Translation: Fall brides, it's time to start planning for your fall wedding!
When I say planning, take that term loosely, because by this point you hopefully already have most of your wedding planning out of the way! Whether or not you have anything planned at this point, your turn in the spotlight is coming so let's get prepared!
You've probably thought to yourself at some point "What should I actually already have done at this point?". We know it can be hard to balance work, life, and wedding planning, so we're here to help you out and let you know what you should be planning from now until the fall wedding day!
5 - 6 Months Before the Fall Wedding
If you already have these things planned, then you're off to a great start! If you haven't gotten around to these wedding planning items yet, don't worry, you still have time, but you probably want to start - like, now. Here is a list of things you should plan at least 5-6 months before your wedding:
- Announce your engagement
- Set a date
- Choose your wedding party
- Book the venue, caterer, florist, photographer, officiant and DJ/band.
- Create your guest list
- Shop for your wedding gown
- Look for bridesmaid dresses
- Look for flower girl dresses and ring bearer suits.
3 - 4 Months Before the Fall Wedding
Time to start planning the smaller details and finalizing things! Here is a list of things you should plan 3 - 4 months before your wedding:
- Book hair and makeup
- Finalize the menu
- Build a gift registry
- Plan the rehearsal dinner
- Order a wedding cake
- Send out invitations
1 - 2 Months Before the Fall Wedding
You're almost there! The hard part of the wedding planning is mostly out of the way and soon you'll be able to enjoy the day! Here is a list of things you should plan 1 - 2 months before your wedding:
- Get the marriage license
- Write your wedding vows
- Have your final wedding dress fitting
- Confirm your date with all wedding vendors
2 - 4 Weeks Before the Fall Wedding
At this point, almost everything is taken care of and you'll be able to relax. Time to just make some confirmations and you're good to go. Here is what you should be doing 2 - 3 weeks before your wedding:
- Confirm the final headcount with caterer and venue.
- Create your seating plan.
1 Week Before the Fall Wedding
Woohoo! The big day is almost here. Take some deep breaths and try not to let yourself get too nervous. At this point, you have most of the planning done and you can delegate tasks to others for the day. Here is what you should be doing just before your wedding:
- Confirm honeymoon plans
- Set aside gratuities for all vendors
- Send a wedding day timeline to the bridal party and to all vendors
A fall wedding is special. The colors are magnificent, the temperature is perfect and the atmosphere is cozy. There's no need to let the wedding planning become stressful! Stay organized with this timeline and actually enjoy the wedding planning process!
